Fight To Fundraise

MMA Fighter, Kevin Delong will be stepping into the cage for a good cause. In his Fight to Fundraise, he will be donating 25 percent of what he earns on ticket sales to Fam Chao, who recently lost her husband and son. Read the touching story in the Sacramento Bee and consider purchasing tickets to help this family, who has given so much to the community. When he heard about what happened, Kevin began plans right away to help. He shared,

”It’s our civil duty to help others. If I can fight someone to raise money, then that’s what I know how to do and I’ll use it for a good cause.”

The event will be held at the Machinist Hall Lodge 946. Tickets are $40, $60 and $80. Premier Graph-X is creating shirts for the event. $7 of every $20 shirt purchase goes to the family as well. The after-party will be held at The Boxing Donkey Irish Pub, in Roseville.

Kevin hopes to continue helping others through Fight to Fundraise in the future. Invite your friends and spread the word.

Your Friendly Sacramento Burger Battle Reminder

Tomorrow evening, you may get a taste of the best burger you’ve ever had. Yes, in case you somehow missed it (ALL over the media), tomorrow is the inaugural Sacramento Burger Battle. How long have you been waiting for this? I felt the need to remind you, as it would be so sad if you missed it.

Check out this recent post about this very important event. While it is not an official walk for IgersSacramento, I will be instagramming (that’s a real verb, right?) and I hope to see you there. Follow the #sacburgerbattle highlights on Instagram and on the Twittersphere, as well as on Facebook.  There will be amazing burgers. (so. many. burgers.) And complimentary craft beers, cider and wine. (yes, please) And desserts. (thank you)

There is still time to get tickets or consider making a direct donation. Come get your burger on. It’s for a great cause and you may just have the best burger of your life.

Sacramento Sunsets

The sunsets have been stunning lately. Slow down and take time to enjoy simple moments.

“A large drop of sun lingered on the horizon and then dripped over and was gone, and the sky was brilliant over the spot where it had gone, and a torn cloud, like a bloody rag, hung over the spot of its going. And dusk crept over the sky from the eastern horizon, and darkness crept over the land from the east.”
~ John Steinbeck, The Grapes of Wrath

“Soon it got dusk, a grapy dusk, a purple dusk over tangerine groves and long melon fields; the sun the color of pressed grapes, slashed with burgandy red, the fields the color of love and Spanish mysteries.”
~ Jack Kerouac, On the Road

“Never waste any amount of time doing anything important when there is a sunset outside that you should be sitting under!”
~ C. JoyBell C.

“May I never miss a sunset or rainbow because I am looking down.”

~ Sara June Parker
